Complex Individuals
Croydon, London.

In an attempt to restore a social relationship to commodities often referred to within Marxist critiques of economically evaluated labour, selected cake decorators, through collaborative participation and correspondence with the artist, translate and transform occupational roles into a variety of novelty cakes. Photographic re-presentation of method, tools and the forms generated by the action of their partnership then, form a basis through which to isolate and amplify a sense of the individual as a complex member of a group whose practice, as a process of production, is often quantified solely through its product(s).
